Jan van den Hoek - Senior Consultant
Jan van den Hoek joined ICC in 2006. He is Senior Consultant and responsible for advising clients in the optimal management of all interest-rate and currency risks.
- Interest-rate risk management
- Currency risk management
- Executing financial derivatives
- Interest-rate issues for pension funds
Jan’s down-to-earth approach and clear explanation make him a valued advisor for many of ICC's relations. He puts risk management first; there always has to be a worst case. Capitalizing on favorable rate movements is fine, as long as the necessary protection is assured. Jan supervises many interest-rate and currency transactions, with the aim of obtaining low bank margins and the best results for his clients. He is shrewd in his negotiations with banks, but never loses sight of the importance of a good banking relationship for our relations.
Jan also advises a number of pension funds on interest-rate and currency risk management. The factors at play in this sector differ from those that concern borrowers and importers and exporters and Jan has extensive knowledge and experience in this field.
After graduating in Business Administration from Rotterdam’s Erasmus University (specializing in Financial-Economic Management), in 1997 Jan entered the financial world as an investment analyst. A year later, he switched to derivative trading. From then on, up until 2004, Jan traded on all the leading European stock markets on behalf of various Amsterdam option trading companies. The extensive practical experience Jan gained in his career serves him well in his current position as senior consultant at ICC.
